13 evil things

Mark 7:21-22
21 'For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 'thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, licentiousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness.

meanings
  1. evil thoughts- Each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. In other words, we can only be tempted by the defilements that have been stored or planted down in our hearts. The word defilement means to corrupt chastity, to debauch, to violate, to tarnish the purity of character by lewdness, to taint, to stain, to contaminate, to sully, to render impureby sin. It means to become polluted, to be profaned or made commom, to be made unclean. So evil thoughts come out of a part of our hearts that are unsanctified.
  2. adulteries- Voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and someone other than his or her lawful spouse.
  3. fornications- Voluntary sexual intercourse between two unmarried persons or two persons not married to each other.
  4. murders- The unlawful killing of one human by another.
  5. thefts- The act or an instance of stealing.
  6. covetousness- Inordinately or wrongly desirous of wealth or possessions; Greedy.
  7. wickedness- Evil or morally bad in principle or practice.
  8. deceit- The act or practice of deceiving; Concealment or distortion of the truth for the purpose of misleading
  9. licentiousness- Unrestrained by law or general morality; Lawless; Immoral
  10. an evil eye- A look thought capable of inflicting injury or bad luck on the person at whom it is directed.
  11. blasphemy- Impious utterance or action concerning God; An act of cursing or reviling God.
  12. pride- The state or feeling of being proud.
  13. foolishness- Lacking forethought or caution; Lacking or exhibiting a lack of good sense or judgment; Immoderate or stubborn
